It was a productive weekend for the Aberdeen Swim Club during the State A Long Course Swim Meet at the Aberdeen Aquatic Center.
The Stingrays finished fourth as a team, and had a pair of overall champions in addition to nearly two dozen first-place finishes.
Logan Smith was the top overall swimmer in the Boys’ 9-10 division with 110 points, just one point better than teammate Asher Schwan. Easton Ketterling topped the field in the Boys’ 13-14 division with 117 points.
“This weekend was an amazing weekend for our swimmers,” said ASC coach Darien Street. “We had tons of personal bests and season bests. The kids really came out this weekend ready to swim and get after their races.”
Street said the ASC members were focused on the task at hand throughout the three-day meet.
“Their attitudes were great and their focus was strong. It was great being able to see that the work put in across the season came into fruition during this meet at the end of the season,” Street said. “I’m happy to be their coach and I’m so proud of these swimmers for pushing through all the training and competing amazingly this weekend.”
