GROTON – Groton scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to cap a 5-4 walk-off win over Clark-Willow Lake in American Legion baseball Wednesday night.

Trailing 4-3 heading into the final half of the seventh, Groton received a single from Teylor Diegel, who advanced to second base on an error on the same play. After an out, Brevin Fliehs singled to drive in Diegel and tie the score.

Carter Simon was hit by a pitch, and Gavin Englund singled to load the bases. Braxton Imrie hit a ground ball to the first baseman, who threw home, but could not prevent Fliehs from crossing home plate with the winning run.

Simon had an RBI single in the first, while Karsten Fliehs drove in a pair in the fourth for Groton.

Clark-Willow Lake scored three runs in the second, two on Waylan Olson’s single, and another in the fifth on an RBI hit from Will Hovde.

Englund finished with a game-high three hits. Simon and Karsten Fliehs each contributed two.
