MILBANK – Volga used two big innings to fuel a 7-3 victory over Groton during the Heritage Legion baseball tournament on Sunday.

Volga scored three times in the third inning, and then after Groton clawed back to tie the score in the top of the fifth, tacked on four more runs in the bottom of the fifth to take control.

Carter Simon led off the fourth frame with a solo home run for Groton, and Gavin Englund produced a two-run single in the fifth.

MILBANK – Dell Rapids scored in every inning on the way to an 11-0 win over Milbank during the Heritage tournament.

Dell Rapids plated four runs in the third inning and three runs in the fifth.

Meanwhile a while of Dell Rapids pitchers allowed just three hits during the contest.

Mount Vernon-Plankinton 12, Clark Area 9

CLARK – Mount Vernon-Plankinton scored six two-out runs in the top of the seventh inning to rally for a 12-9 win over Clark Area in Legion baseball action.

MVP had five hits and took advantage of two errors in the uprising.

Right before that, Clark scored four two-out runs in the bottom of the sixth to erase a 6-5 deficit. Damian Severson delivered the big blow with a bases-loaded triple.

Will Hovde and Ky Vandersnick each had a pair of hits for Clark.
