Wessington Springs, Wolsey-Wessington win 281 titles

HURON – The Wessington Springs boys and the Wolsey-Wessington girls won team championships at the 281 Conference track and field meets Tuesday in Huron.

Hitchcock-Tulare athletes had big days in both the boys’ and girls’ divisions.

Logan LaBrie won the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, while Emma Schneider won the long jump, triple jump and ran on the winning 400-meter relay. Neil Salmen also won the javelin event for the Patriots.

Wolsey-Wessington’s Colin Hughes won the shot put and discus on the boys’ side, while Kendal Uttecht won the 400-meter dash, 800-meter run, and ran on the winning 800-meter relay team for the Warbirds.
