ESTELLINE – Deuel won the girls’ team championship, while Hitchcock-Tulare athletes won multiple events at the Dwight Kinney track and field meet on Tuesday.
Alayna Carlson had a hand in four event wins for Deuel, taking the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, and running on the winning 400-meter and 800-meter relay teams. Teammate Jaycee Hourigan won the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter runs.
Hitchcock-Tulare received girls’ wins from Emma Schneider in the long jump and triple jump, Rebecca Huizenga in the shot put, Ella Johnson in the discus, and Katelyn Schroeder in the high jump.
On the boys’ side, Deuel’s Oliver Fieber won the 100-meter and 400-meter dash, and Gabe Sather won the 100-meter hurdles and ran on the first place 400-meter relay squad. Hitchcock-Tulare’s Neal Salmen won the javelin.
