Class B Track and Field Leaders

Northwestern’s Ella Boekelheide has moved to the top of three open events in the final Class B track and field leaders.

The junior, who already led the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter runs, clocked the fastest time in the 800-meter run last week.

Boekelheide leads a strong delegation of Lake Region Conference athletes in the leaders. LRC members top seven open events in the boys’ division. Ipswich’s Kyle Hettich has the fastest time in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, Faulkton’s Spencer Melius leads the 110-meter high hurdles and the javelin, Leola’s Dustin Wurtz tops the shot put, Rasmus Loken of Ipswich has the top height in the pole vault, and Dylan Hofer of Aberdeen Christian leads the triple jump. Ipwich’s Jalyssa Hutson leads the girls’ pole vault.

Wilmot’s Ethan Schwenn has taken over the top spot in the 400-meter dash.

Other area leaders in the boys’ division are: Gabe Johnson of North Central who is second in the 3,200 and third in the 1,600, Melius who is second in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles, Kadyn Westergren of Sully Buttes who is second in the shot put, Brody Davis of Ipswich who is second in the pole vault, Landon Larson of Potter County who is second in the long jump, Northwestern’s Ty Boekelheide who is second in the triple jump, Brody Bass of Castlewood who is third in the 110 hurdles, Logan LaBrie of Hitchcock-Tulare who is fifth in the 100, Warner’s Chays Mansfield who is fifth in the pole vault followed by teammate Avery Bruns in sixth, and North Central’s Kobe Wherry in eighth, Maxwell Kulesa of Ipswich who is sixth in the 400 and seventh in the 800, Payton Chasing Hawk of Hitchcock-Tulare who is sixth in the 300 hurdles, Leola’s Jacob Kindelspire who is sixth in the shot put, Faulkton’s Weston Senn who is sixth in the javelin, Wurtz who is seventh in the discus, and Lucas Gulbranson of Leola who is seventh in the long jump.

Other area relay leaders in boys are Ipswich which is second in the 400 and 1,600, and third in the 800, Frederick which is second in the 3,200 and fifth in the 400, North Central which is eighth in the 3,200, and Wilmot which is eighth in the sprint medley.

Other area leaders in the girls’ division are: Hitchcock-Tulare’s Emma Schneider who is second in the triple jump, and sixth in the long jump, Kendal Uttecht of Wolsey-Wessington who is second in the 800, Marley Guthmiller of Ipswich who is second in the pole vault followed by North Central’s Peyton Schnabel in third, Warner’s Courtney Leidholt in fourth, teammates Bruns in fifth and Jordyn Jensen in seventh, and Carleigh Dosch of North Central in eighth, Dannika Kaup of Potter County who is third in the 300 hurdles with Guthmiller in sixth, Autumn Fallis of Highmore-Highmore who is fourth in the 3,200 and seventh in the 1,600, Herreid-Selby Area’s Breanna Jochim who is third in the 100, North Central’s Lindsey Geier who is third in the triple jump followed by Samara Clemente of Wolsey-Wessington in fourth, and Shawnteah LaCroix of Aberdeen Christian in fifth. LaCroix is also fourth in the 200 and fifth in the 100, Hitchcock-Tulare’s Katelynn Schroeder who is fifth in the javelin followed by Annaliese Van Zee of Sully Buttes in seventh, Leidholt who is fifth in the long jump followed by teammate Kaydee Mackner in eighth, Ipswich’s Sophie Knittel who is sixth the 200, and Madisyn Gellhaus who is sixth in the 1600, Emma Schlachter of Potter County who is seventh in the 800, Rebecca Huizenga of Hitchcock-Tulare who is seventh in the shot put, and Wolsey-Wessington’s Tatum Luce who is seventh in the high jump followed by Clemente in eighth.

Other area relay leaders in girls are Potter County which is second in the 1,600 and 3,200, and seventh in the sprint medley, Ipswich which is third in the 1,600, and sixth in the 800 and 3,200, Northwestern which is third in the sprint medley and seventh in the 3,200, Herreid-Selby Area which is fourth in the 400, and fifth in the 800, Sunshine Bible which is fourth in the 1,600, Warner which is fifth in the 3,200, Highmore-Harrold which is sixth in the sprint medley, Wolsey-Wessington which is seventh in the 800, and Faulkton which is eighth in the 3,200.
