MOBRIDGE – One night after recording a hard-fought five-set win, Mobridge-Pollock rallied for a four-set victory over Aberdeen Roncalli Tuesday night.

The Cavaliers had their three-match winning streak snapped as the host Tigers pulled out a 20-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-11 non-conference volleyball victory.

“We came out strong the first set,” said Roncalli coach Leesa Ware, “and then really struggled the rest of the three.”

Mobridge-Pollock, which edged Ipswich in a marathon match on Monday, improved to 20-6 on the season with its latest win.

The Tigers used a balanced attack to surge back after dropping the opening set to Roncalli.

Charley Henderson had four aces and 12 kills, while Raelyn Aberle also had a dozen kills, Grace Overland followed with 11, and Tegan Konold contributed nine. Jacy Netterville also had four aces for the Tigers.

“Mobridge-Pollock is a good team and we just didn’t have the answers,” Ware said. “They played very aggressively and hit our open spots.”

Ava Hanson topped the Cavaliers with 11 kills. Karsyn Davis and Rylee Voeller followed with 8 and 6, respectively.

Maddie Huber had team leading totals of four aces, 28 set assists and 19 digs for the Roncalli.

The Cavaliers, 8-7 on the season, play in a tournament at Miller on Saturday.
