CASTLEWOOD – Third-rated Class B Redfield Dairy Queen scored eight runs in the first three innings and improved to 17-0 with a 14-6 Amateur baesball victory over the Castlewood Ravens on Sunday afternoon.
After a single run in the first, Redfield scored three times in the second inning, and four times in the third. Nathan Hainy had an RBI single and Camden Osborn added a two-run single in the second, while Cooper Hainy drove in a run with a double and two other runs came in on errors in the third.
The Ravens stayed within reach with a three-run third, thanks in part to a Gus Steiger home run. However, Dairy Queen added solo runs in the fourth, sixth and ninth frames to go along with three runs in the seventh.
Peyton Osborn, Bennett Osborn, Christian DeYoung, Camden Osborn and Nolan Gall each had RBI hits during that stretch.
Camden Osborn and Gall each had three hits for DQ, which had 16 hits as a team. Bennett Osborn had a team-leading three RBI.
Nate Phinney had a game-best five hits for Castlewood. Steiger contributed three.
Redfield is off before hosting playoff action on Sunday.
