Central finishes 12th at State AA golf tourney

HURON – Aberdeen Central concluded its golf season by finishing 12 at the Class AA State Tournament at Broadland Creek Country Club on Tuesday.

The Golden Eagles shot nearly identical rounds in the event, carding totals of 354 and 356 for a 36-hole total of 710.

Sioux Falls Lincoln and O’Gorman tied for the team title. Watertown’s Jake Olson won the individual championship by three strokes of Luke Honner of Lincoln.

Central’s top finisher was Rylan Dykema, who shaved seven shots off his first-round scoring. Dykema, who fired an 83 over the final 18 holes finished with a 173 and tied for 56th. Teammate Peyton Brust tied for 61st with a 176. Jacob Grau tied for 63rd with a 178 and Cole Brust tied for 69th with a 183.

Other Golden Eagles included Carter Blanchard with a 190 and Quincy Madsen with a 200.
