Northeast Conference athletes continue to be located throughout the Class A track and field leaders.

However, one non-NEC runner turned in a stellar performance this past week as Heidi Olson vaulted to the top spot in the girls’ 1,600-meter run.

Hamlin girls are having a field day so far this spring. Gracelyn Leiseth is first in the discus and second in the shot put, while teammate Kami Wadsworth is third in the shot and fourth in the disc. McKenna Prouty has the top high jump.

Greta Snaza of Milbank Area has the top height in the pole vault.

The Milbank boys are led by Bennett Schwenn. He is first in the triple jump, fourth in the long jump, and seventh in the 100 and 200. Nick Batchelor is third in the 3,200 and fourth in the 1,600. Both are members of the sprint medley relay team which has the top time in Class A.

Elsewhere, Andrew Kranhold of Sisseton is second in the high jump and Noah Johnson of Clark-Willow Lake is second in the shot put.
