Redfield Dairy Queen surges past Northville for Amateur win

REDFIELD – Redfield Dairy Queen scored nine unanswered runs to pull away from a one-run lead and collect a 15-5 win over the Northville Merchants in Amateur baseball Monday night.

After DQ had built a 6-2 advantage, Northville received RBI doubles from Niko Pezonella, Ethan Beyers, and Max Waltman in the top of the fifth to slice the deficit to a single run. Redfield responded with five runs in the bottom half of the frame as Tommy Gregg and Bennett Osborn each had two-run home runs.

Redfield tacked on three more runs in the sixth on Nolan Gall’s three-run homer, and then ended the game in the bottom of the seventh on Cooper Hainy’s lead-off solo home run.

Camden Osborn had three hits, drove in three runs, and scored four times for Redfield, including a two-run double in the second and an RBI single in the fourth.

Gall had three hits and knocked in five. He had an RBI double in the first and drove in a run in the second in addition to his home run.

Bennett Osborn, Hainy, Nate Klinkhammer, and Gregg each added two hits to Redfield’s 17-hit total.
