Circus remains unbeaten with victory over Groton

Aberdeen Circus scored 11 times in the bottom of the first inning and rolled to a 17-2 amateur baseball win over Groton at Fossum Field Friday night.

Circus, which improved to 8-0 with the victory, collected 14 hits and also took advantage of six Groton errors.

Chad Ellingson had four hits to lead a balanced Circus attack. Michael Babcock had three hits and Spencer Sudbeck two.

Babcock knocked in five runs in the five-inning contest. Zane Hunt and Joey Wollman each plated a pair of runs.

Meanwhile, Max Otto had plenty of run support on the mound. The Circus pitcher struck out eight Groton batters in four winnings of work.
