BELLE FOURCHE – Clark-Willow Lake scored six unanswered runs on the way to a 7-5 win over Mobridge during an American Legion baseball tournament in Belle Fourche on Sunday afternoon.
After Mobridge scored the first run on Easton Eisemann’s RBI single in the top of the first inning, Clark-Willow Lake responded with two runs in the bottom of the first, a run in the second, and three more in the third.
Watson Grantham and Jakob Steen drove in runs in the first, Max Bratland plated a run in the second, and Damion Severson had an RBI single in the third to go along with a pair of wild pitches that produced runs. Severson also drove in a run in the fifth.
Mobridge had chances, scoring once in the fifth, and another in the sixth on Trueth Crow Ghost’s RBI double, however, a runner was thrown out at the plate. Mobridge then added two runs in the seventh, one on Mack Saxon’s RBI single, however, the bases were left loaded when the game ended.
Caleb Drenth and Benny Pommer each had two hits for CWL, while Eisemann had a pair for Mobridge.
On Saturday night Mobridge walked off Warner-Ipswich-Northwestern, and Mount Vernon-Plankinton grabbed a 10-run victory over W-I-N on Sunday.
