Clark-Willow Lake tops Mount Vernon-Plankinton

BELLE FOURCHE – Clark-Willow Lake scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning and made it stand up in a 5-1 win over Mount Vernon-Plankinton in an American Legion baseball tournament in Belle Fourche.

Jakob Steen drove in one run and stole home for another in the pivotal inning. CWL also scored runs on a wild pitch and an error.

Watson Grantham struck out seven batters in three innings of work on the mound.
