CWL defeats Redfield; Groton, Sisseton split; Milbank sweeps

REDFIELD – Clark-Willow Lake built an early lead, lost it, and then rallied for a 7-5 win over Redfield in American Legion baseball action on Monday.

CWL scored four times in the top of the first on a Caleb Drenth RBI single, two wild pitches and a passed ball.

Redfield responded with five runs in the bottom of the third, two coming on Tate Bray’s single, and two others on bases-loaded walks.

The visitors then scored once in the fifth and surged ahead with two runs in the sixth, the last coming on Watson Grantham’s RBI single.

Grantham finished with two hits, and also struck out nine batters in three-plus innings.

Jett Kleinsasser and Bray each had a pair of hits for Redfield.
