MITCHELL – The Aberdeen Circus Sports Bar had its season come to an end in an 8-7 walk-off setback to the Tea Steam at the Class A State Amateur Baseball Tournament on Friday afternoon.

The contest was tight throughout.

Aberdeen scored a run in the second inning on an RBI single from Jaiden Smith.

Circus then briefly jumped in front 4-3 with three runs in the fourth inning, all coming with two outs. Smith had a two-run triple and then came in to score on a single from Kelly Coates in the next at-bat.

After Tea reclaimed a 6-4 advantage, Circus tied the game with two runs in the top of the seventh on RBI singles from Kris Kwak and Easton Millar.

The Steam responded with a run in the bottom of the seventh, before Circus tied the score in the top of the eighth on another Kwak RBI single.

Aberdeen had a chance to take the lead in the top of the ninth, loading the bases with one out, however, the threat ended on a lineout double play.

Tea loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth with two outs before Billy Mote delivered a single to centerfield to give the Steam the walk-off win.

Millar led Circus with three hits. Smith added a pair of hits and drove in three. Kwak had two hits and plated a pair.

Aberdeen committed seven errors in the contest.
