Circus grabs Amateur win over Groton

Aberdeen Circus Sports Bar and Grill scored in each of the first four innings and allowed just one unearned run in a 7-1 win over Groton Locke Electric in Amateur baseball action at Fossum Field Monday night.

Chad Ellingson scattered four hits, struck out six batters and did not give up an earned run in six innings on the mound.

The hosts scored all the runs they needed in the bottom of the first inning when two runners crossed the plate. Circus added two more runs in the second, another in the third, and two more in the fourth.

Casey Vining had an RBI single in the first and a lead-off home run in the third. Kris Kwak drove in a run with a single in the fourth.

Groton got on the board on Jonah Schmidt’s sacrifice fly in the sixth.

Easton Millar and Vining each had two hits to lead Circus. Ty Sieber topped Groton with a pair of hits.
