Clark-Willow Lake edges Redfield; Groton shutout

CLARK – Watson Grantham allowed just three hits and struck out 13 batters as Clark-Willow Lake picked up a 3-1 win over Redfield in American Legion baseball action on Friday.

Grantham doubled in the bottom of the first inning and scored on a single by Damion Severson, who lead CWL with three hits. Severson also drove in a run in the sixth.

Grantham, who retired nine batters in a row at one stage, worked out of a jam in the top of the seventh. Redfield’s Aiden Frankenstein doubled to lead off the frame, before Grantham recorded three straight outs, the last two coming via strikeout.
