Three-run innings lift Clark-Willow Lake to Legion win

CLARK – Clark-Willow Lake used a pair of three-run frames to help fuel a 7-3 win over Lidgerwood, N.D., in American Legion baseball action Tuesday night.

The visitors jumped in front 3-0 in the top of the third inning, before Clark-Willow Lake responded with three runs in the bottom half of the frame.

Cooper Pommer had an RBI single, and Watson Grantham drove in a run with a double during the inning.

The hosts surged in ahead with a run in the bottom of the fifth when Caleb Drenth doubled to plate Grantham.

Clark-Willow Lake took control with three more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. All three runs scored on Lidgerwood errors.

Pommer finished with two hits to lead CWL, which received hits from six different players.

Grantham struck out seven batters before Pommer came on in relief and fanned four.
