Circus sweeps Sioux Falls Brewers

Aberdeen Circus Sports Bar swept past the Sioux Falls Brewers thanks to a walk-off win in Amateur baseball action Saturday afternoon at Fossum Field. The local squad won by scores of 12-2 and 9-8.

WolfDon Thorson hit a two-out single in the bottom of the seventh inning of the one-run victory. A pair of walks and a hit batter set the stage for Thorson’s winning hit.

Circus scored in each of four innings in its 10-run victory.

Kelly Coates drove in a pair in a five-run first inning to set the tone for the contest. Thorson had an RBI triple in that win.

Aberdeen led 5-1 in the other contest before Sioux Falls scored six runs in the top of the sixth to take a brief lead.

Circus responded with three runs in the bottom half of the sixth, as Thorson had a two-run home run.

The Brewers tied the game in the seventh, setting the stage for the walk-off in the bottom of the frame.
