Groton tops Redfield in Legion baseball

GROTON – Groton pieced together four multiple-run innings on the way to a 10-7 American Legion baseball win over Redfield on Saturday.

The hosts scored a pair of runs in the first and sixth innings, and had three-run frames in the third and fourth.

Carter Simon had three hits, including a home run, and knocked in four runs for Groton, which took advantage of eight Redfield errors in the contest.

Micah Zastrow and Noah Johnson each finished with three hits for Redfield.
