Redfield DQ defeats Burke in first round of B Amateur

MITCHELL – Redfield Dairy Queen used a pair of big innings to help fuel a 10-3 win over the Burke Bombers in the opening round of the Class B State Amateur Baseball Tournament Saturday night.

DQ scored four runs in the third inning and tacked on five more runs in the eighth en route to the victory.

Bennett Osborn smacked a three-run home run in the third frame, and also added an RBI single in the eighth. Nolan Gall had a two-run single in the eighth, and Peyton Osborn drove in Redfield’s final run with a single.

Camden Osborn, Gall, and Bennett Osborn each had two hits in the win. Bennett Osborn drove in four, while Gall and Peyton Osborn knocked in a pair. Camden Osborn scored three runs.

Peyton Osborn went the distance on the mound for DQ, striking out six batters.

Redfield will take on the Canova Gang in the next round at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
