W-I-N’s Heinz no hits Claremont; Groton, Sisseton, CWL claim wins

NORTHVILLE – Mac Heinz tossed a no-hitter, striking out eight batters as Warner-Ipswich-Northwestern blanked Claremont 7-0 in American Legion baseball Thursday night.

Drew Bakeberg powered the W-I-N offense with a pair of two-run hits. Logan Fischbach, Braydon Kroll, and Alec Mikkelsen also drove in runs in the victory. Heinz also had two hits.

W-I-N also took the other contest over the Honkers 6-2. The hosts scored five runs in the fifth inning on three errors and a passed ball.

Logan Fischbach had two hits for W-I-N, and Chris Cutler had two hits for Claremont.
