SISSETON – The Clark Dinosaurs are headed to the State B High School Baseball Tournament after securing a pair of victories during the North Super Regional on Wednesday.
Clark edged Milbank 5-4 before knocking off second-seeded Sisseton-Britton-Webster 6-2.
Watson Grantham and Cooper Pommer combined to one-hit S-B-W. Grantham pitched five and one-third innings, striking out five. Pommer came on in relief and struck out four.
The Dinosaurs scored three runs on errors and two more on ground outs. Jacob Steen, who doubled in the contest, plated the other run on a sacrifice fly.
Caleb Drenth had a pair of hits in the victory.
Earlier in the day, Clark built a four-run lead and then held off a late rally to defeat Milbank.
Jax Tharaldsen drove in a run in the fourth, and Steen provided a two-run single in the fifth.
Milbank mounted a two-out rally in the seventh, scoring on a base-loaded walk and closing to within a run on Bennett Hunt’s two-run double. However, he was stranded at second when the game ended on a strikeout.
Drenth and Tharaldsen each had two hits for the Dinosaurs. Kaleb Linstrom had three hits, and Zack Karges had two for Milbank.
Clark will face top-seeded West Central in the state tournament on Monday in Brookings.

MADISON – Madison turned back Groton 4-3 to earn its spot in the upcoming state tournament.
The hosts scored the first four runs of the game and then held off a late Groton rally.
Groton’s Lincoln Krause hit a solo home run in the fifth, and then the Tigers scored twice in the top of the seventh. Jordan Schwan doubled and Krause drove him across the plate with a single. Krause later scored on a double steal and Groton had two runners on with one out, before a fly out and strikeout ended the game.
Madison will enter the state tourney as the second seed and face Winner-Colome in the opening round.
Groton walked off Sioux Valley 3-2 earlier in the day.
Case Reints produced a one-out two-run game-winning single for the Tigers in the bottom of the seventh.
Krause hit a lead-off triple in the bottom of the first inning and scored on an error for Groton’s first run.
