Clark doubles up W-I-N for baseball victory

CLARK – Clark built a four-run lead and held off Warner-Ipswich-Northwestern for a 6-3 high school baseball win Thursday night.

Caleb Drenth drove in a run with a single in the bottom of the first before the hosts tacked on three runs in the fourth frame on a bases-loaded hit batter, a bases-loaded walk and a wild pitch.

W-I-N cut the lead in half with two runs in the top of the fifth, one scoring on Mac Heinz single, but Clark responded with two runs in the bottom half of the frame on a two-run single from Jax Tharaldsen.

W-I-N added a run in the sixth on a bases-loaded walk, but could get no closer.

Drenth had two hits for Clark, and Jacob Schmidt had a pair of hits for W-I-N. Tharaldsen drove in three runs.
