HURON – The Aberdeen Central boys’ soccer team recorded a 4-0 win over Huron on Tuesday night to remain unbeaten on the season. The Golden Eagles have allowed just one goal in three games on the way to a 2-0-1 start.

Jamison Frericks scored two goals in the span of a minute in the opening half and that was more than enough against Central’s tough defense.

Koltin Swearingen had seven saves in goal for the Golden Eagles.

“We did a good job of extending the lead at critical moments,” said Central coach Lance Mohr. “Koltin had some really important saves in the first half and we relaxed the game in the second half.”

Linus Johnson, who had an assist on one of the goals in the first half, found the back of the net in the second half as did Brook Bonn.

Central will have its home opener on Friday against perennial power Sioux Falls Lincoln at 6 p.m. at Brownell Activities Complex.

“They will be a battle,” Mohr said. “Always a great challenge for our teams.”
