RAPID CITY – Several area golfers are near the top of the leaderboard following the first day of the South Dakota Golf Association’s Boys and Girls Junior 16-18 Championships at Red Rock.
Olivia Braun of Aberdeen is in second place after a round of 74, one stroke off the lead. Watertown’s Brynn Roehrich is tied for third with a 75.
Kaitlin Strain of Rapid City leads the girls’ division with a 73.
Onida’s Gavin Colson is tied for fifth in the boys’ division after a round of 74, while Harper Schnabel of Aberdeen is tied for seventh with a 75.
Bryce Thompson and Carter Peterson of Sioux Falls are tied for the lead with rounds of 71.
The tourney continues today and concludes on Wednesday.
