W-I-N, Groton, Redfield earn Legion victories

WEBSTER – Devon Fischbach tossed a three-hit shutout as Warner-Ipswich-Northwestern edged Clark-Willow Lake 1-0 in American Legion baseball action on Sunday.

Fischbach walked three and struck out three, and retired the last eight batters he faced in the contest.

W-I-N scored the only run of the game in the bottom of the fifth when Mac Heinz singled and came around to score on an error.

Charlie Luvaas went the distance for Clark-Willow Lake, allowing just two hits, walking a pair, and striking out six.
