NORTHVILLE – Alec Mikkelsen delivered a two-out bases-loaded double as Warner-Ipswich-Northwestern grabbed a 9-8 walk-off victory over Redfield in American Legion baseball action Monday night.

Redfield trailed 6-3 before producing a late rally of its own. The visitors scored twice in the top of the sixth inning, one run coming in on a Noah Johnson triple, and then surged ahead with three runs in the top of the seventh. A pair of errors led to two runs, setting the stage for Mikkelsen’s game-winner in the bottom half of the inning.

Jacob Schmitt and Devon Fischbach each had one-out singles and after a strikeout, a hit batter loaded the bases for Mikkelsen, who doubled to left field.

W-I-N struck first with two runs in the opening inning as Lincoln Kroll and Logan Fischbach each had RBI singles.

Redfield responded with three runs in the top of the third, two coming in on Aiden Frankenstein’s single.

The hosts then scored three unanswered runs, as Drew Bakeberg and Brayden Kroll each knocked in runs.

Mikkelsen finished with four hits to lead the victory.
