Groton defense fuels girls’ win over Northwestern

MELLETTE – Groton held Northwestern six points over the final three quarters on the way to a 55-20 non-conference girls’ basketball victory Monday night.

McKenna Tietz scored a game-high 20 points for the Tigers, who stopped a brief two-game skid and improved to 6-4 on the season. Taryn Traphagen added 11 to the Groton total.
