Kimball-White Lake blanks Milbank at State B tourney

BRANDON – The Milbank Firechiefs had a chance to strike first, but came up empty before Kimball-White Lake took a lead it never lost Monday night.

The Nationals pushed across two runs in the fourth before exploding for eight runs in the eighth in a 10-0 win during the State B Amateur Baseball Tournament Monday night.

Milbank loaded the bases in the top of the fourth, but was unable to score. After Kimball-White Lake inched ahead in the bottom half of the frame, the Firechiefs loaded the bases again in the top of the fifth, but were unable to get on the scoreboard.

The Nationals then had half of their dozen hits in the eighth inning to end the game on the 10-run rule.

Jaxen Christensen finished with three hits to lead Kimball-White Lake.

Milbank managed just one hit in the contest, that a single by Isaac Schulte in the third inning.

Ethan Price went 7 and 2/3 innings for the Nationals, striking out 12 batters.
