Aberdeen Circus Sports Bar geared up for the postseason with an Amateur baseball win over Valley City on Saturday afternoon at Fossum Field.

The local squad jumped out to a five-run lead and picked up a 9-4 victory.

Circus set the tone with a four-run second inning. Jesse Babcock had an RBI single, before Jaiden Smith added a bases-loaded double.

While the North Dakota squad cut the margin down to a single run with a three-run third, Circus got solo runs in the third and fifth frames, before tacking on three more runs in the bottom of the seventh to provide all the insurance runs it would need.

WolfDon Thorson had three hits, including a double, to pace the Circus hitting attack that produced a dozen hits. Michael Babcock and Jesse Babcock each contributed a pair of hits.

Aberdeen will be hosting state tournament games this coming weekend at Fossum Field.
