MITCHELL – Aberdeen Circus Sports Bar scored six early runs and never trailed on the way to a 10-5 win over the Mitchell Aces in Amateur baseball action on Saturday and then were walked off on a wild pitch in a 9-8 setback.

Circus scored three times in the first and third innings. Josh Steinwandt drove in a pair with a single in the first frame, while Levi Logan belted a three-run home run in the third in the victory.

Mitchell got back into the game with four runs in the fourth. Each team scored in the fifth, Circus on an RBI single from Casey Vining, and Aberdeen tacked on the the last three runs for the final margin of difference. Vining tripled, before RBI hits from Steinwandt and Jesse Babcock in a two-run seventh.

Steinwandt and Logan each finished with three hits for Circus.

Circus rallied from a 4-0 deficit in the other contest, thanks in part to a five-run sixth inning.

Vining and Steinwandt both had RBI doubles in a two-run fifth, and Easton Millar drove in a pair, and Vining, Steinwandt and Michael Babcock each plated one run in the sixth.

Mitchell then scored four times in the bottom half of the frame, capped off by the walk-off wild pitch.

Kelly Coates had three hits to lead Circus, while Vining, Millar and Steinwandt each contributed two.

Vining finished with three RBI, and Millar and Steinwandt each knocked in a pair.
