Clark-Willow Lake offense on display in sweep over Webster

WEBSTER – Clark-Willow Lake exploded for 22 runs and 22 hits in a sweep over Webster in American Legion baseball action on Tuesday.

CWL did the bulk of its damage in one inning to fuel a 13-0 win in the opener, and then scored in every inning but one in a 9-3 victory in the second contest.

Jacob Steen, Damion Severson, and Cooper Pommer each drove in two runs in a 10-run third inning in the first game. Pommer finished the game with four RBI. Watson Grantham struck out eight batters and allowed just two hits in five innings.

Jack Helkenn and Steen each had three hits and drove in a pair in the second game. Helkenn had run-producing singles in the first and fourth innings, while Steen had a two-run double in the second.

Pommer, Severson, and Grantham each added two hits for Clark-Willow Lake, which finished with 15 hits in all.
