Groton offense on display in sweep over Chamberlain

CHAMBERLAIN – Groton racked up 24 runs on 24 hits in a Legion baseball sweep over Chamberlain on Sunday. Groton won by scores of 11-1 and 13-7.

Korbin Kucker had a pair of hits and drove in three in the first game. He had an RBI triple in the fourth, and a two-run single in the fifth. Nick Morris led the Tigers with three hits.

Carter Simon had two extra-base hits and drove in six runs in the other game. He had a grand slam home run in the sixth, and a two-run double in the seventh.

Kucker had three more hits and scored three runs in the victory.
