GROTON – Groton used timely hitting and a complete-game pitching performance from Nick Morris to fuel a 7-1 Legion baseball win over Warner-Ipswich-Northwestern on Saturday.
Groton scored three two-out runs in the second inning on an RBI double from Korbin Kucker and a two-run single from Brevin Fliehs. Kucker also tripled in a run and scored on a wild pitch in the sixth.
Kucker, Fliehs and Teylor Diegel each had two hits for Groton. Lincoln Kroll had a pair of hits for W-I-N.
