Lake Norden falls to Wynot at State B Amateur tourney

MITCHELL – Lake Norden owned a pair of leads, but Wynot, Neb. scored five unanswered run to secure a 6-3 victory during the opening round of the Class B State Amateur Baseball Tournament on Thursday evening.

Kale Stevenson singled in the top of the first inning, stole second, went to third on an error, and scored on a sacrifice fly by Mick Tulson.

After Wynot tied the game, the Lakers scored a pair of runs in the top of the third. Tulson had an RBI triple and scored on an error. However, Wynot scored in four of the next five frames to slowly build a lead.

Jesse Vanoverbeke and Brady Steffen each had two hits to lead Lake Norden. Jordon Johnson threw a complete game.
