GROTON – Groton scored a dozen runs in the first inning, seven of them on bases-loaded walks, on the way to a 13-3 win over Lake Norden-Badger in American Legion baseball on Wednesday night.

Gavin Englund had a bases-loaded double, and Karsten Fliehs plated two more runs on a double in the frame.

Groton took advantage of a dozen walks in all.

Englund and Fliehs both finished with two hits. Fliehs drove in four runs total.
