Groton, Milbank record Legion baseball sweeps

GROTON – Groton racked up 28 runs and 22 hits, while giving up just one run and three hits in a doubleheader sweep over Webster in American Legion baseball on Monday.

Groton won the first contest 13-1, and took the nightcap 15-0.

TC Schuster struck out 10 batters and also drove in three runs to lead Groton in the opener. Gavin Englund and Nick Groeblinghoff each had two hits.

Alex Abeln finished with four hits and struck out 10 batters in the second game. Englund and Karsten Fliehs each had three hits in the victory.
