GROTON – Groton pulled away from a 3-2 edge with three runs in the bottom of the sixth to help secure a 6-2 high school baseball victory over Warner-Ipswich-Northwestern Monday night.

Gavin Englund struck out seven batters before giving way to TC Schuster for the final out of the game.

Groton jumped in front with a run in the second when Karsten Fliehs hit a solo home run, and added two runs in the fourth, one coming on a Braeden Fliehs double.

W-I-N closed the gap with a pair of runs in the fifth, on RBI singles from Brevyn Pitz and Braydon Kroll, before Groton responded with three runs in the bottom half of the frame. Nick Groeblinghoff was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and the two runs came in on an error.

Schuster and Karsten Fliehs each had two hits for Groton, while Quinn Huettl had two for W-I-N.
