Groton, Sisseton-Britton-Webster grab baseball wins

NORTHVILLE – Groton scored nine runs in the top of the ninth inning break a tie score and pick up a 14-5 triumph over Warner-Ipswich-Northwestern in high school baseball Wednesday night.

The Tigers took advantage of five errors and two hitter batters in the frame, and received a two-run triple from Jordan Schwan.

Lincoln Krause and Alex Abeln each had three hits in the victory, while Schwan knocked in three.

Jarrett Erdmann struck out 13 batters before giving way to Englund in the sixth.

Alec Mikkelsen and Lincoln Kroll each had two hits for W-I-N.

SISSETON – Carter Stickland had four hits, including a double, to help power Sisseton-Britton-Webster to a 11-1 win over the Clark Dinosaurs.

S-B-W, which scored in every frame, took advantage of nine walks and five errors in the contest.
