Redfield opens amateur season with win over Castlewood

REDFIELD – Redfield Dairy Queen collected 10 hits, stole eight bases, and used strong pitching on the way to a 6-1 amateur baseball win over Castlewood on Sunday afternoon.

After the visitors put up a run in the top of the first, Peyton Osborn pitched six scoreless innings and finished with seven strikeouts, before Bennett Osborn took over in relief.

Meanwhile, Redfield was busy on the basepaths throughout the game. DQ scored two runs in the third inning, loading the bases with runs coming in on fielder’s choice and a ground out. Kole DeSpiegler drove in a run in the fourth, Camden Osborn had an RBI single in a two-run sixth, and Owen Osborn accounted for the final run with hit in the eighth.

Nolan Gall had three hits to lead Redfield, while Camden Osborn and Brent Osborn each finished with two hits.
