MITCHELL – The Mount Vernon Mustangs set the tone with a lead-off triple to start the game and rolled past Redfield Dairy Queen 10-0 in the opening round of the State B Amateur Baseball Tournament Thursday afternoon at Cadwell Park.

Spencer Neugebauer tripled, scored on a single by Chase Hetland, who came in three batters later on a home run by Deric Denning to stake Mount Vernon to a 3-0 lead before Redfield came to bat.

The Mustangs added three more runs in the second inning to break the game open and then scored four more runs on the way to the victory.
