Circus blanks Groton twice, remains unbeaten

The Aberdeen Circus Sports Bar improved to 11-0 on the season after not allowing a run in a doubleheader sweep over Groton Locke Electric in amateur baseball action Sunday at Fossum Field.

Circus won the opener 5-0, before rolling to a 15-0 three-inning victory in the nightcap.

Brandon Kusler had two hits, drove in a run, and recorded five strikeouts in four innings on the mound to lead Circus. Lucas Heiser also fanned five Groton batters in three innings of work.

Tyler Oliver and Spencer Sudbeck also drove in runs for Circus, which took control with three runs in the bottom of the first inning.

Circus sandwiched four-run innings around a seven-run second inning in the second contest.

Chad Ellingson had three hits and Tyler Newman two for Circus, which collected 11 hits and took advantage of five Groton errors.

Newman drove in three runs, while Ryan Ellingson and Chad Ellingson each drove in a pair.
