Langford Area outscored Great Plains Lutheran 22-6 in the final period to rally for a 47-44 victory during the opening round of Region 1B girls’ basketball Monday night.

Katie Jensen scored a game-high 17 points to lead a balanced attack for the Lions, who trailed by as many as 21 points in the third quarter. Jennaka Nelson contributed 10 points, and Olyvia Dwight and Kylie Schock each followed with nine.

Langford now plays at Waverly-South Shore this evening in the quarterfinals.

Tonight’s Northwestern-Warner quarterfinal contest scheduled for Waverly will now place take place in Warner at 7 p.m.
