Central golfers compete at Huron Invitational

HURON – Aberdeen Central golfers finished in a pack during the Huron Invitational on Thursday. The Golden Eagles had all six of their golfers score with nine strokes of each other.

Brandon Valley won the team championship with a total of 297. Aberdeen Central was 11th with a total of 349.

Mitchell’s Asher Dannenbring was the medalist with a 70, one stroke better than runner-up Elijah Larson of Yankton.

Central was led by Cole Brust, who tied for 44th with an 85. Other Golden Eagles included Brady Heilman tied for 51st with an 86, Ben Golz and Ridgly Wasem tied for 59th with rounds of 89, Eli Schauer tied for 61st with a 90, and Maddox Dinger 68th with a 94.

Central will host the annual Hub City Invitational at Lee Park Golf Course on Tuesday.
