Class A Track and Field Leaders

A trio of Northeast Conference track and field athletes made major moves in this week’s Class A track and field leaders.

Webster’s Matthew Mount now tops the javelin after his throw of 176-feet, 2-inches at the NEC meet last week. Groton’s Rylee Dunker broke into the girls’ javelin and is fourth after her throw at the Dial-A-Move meet in Warner on Wednesday. And Groton’s Jayden Schwan moved into the fifth position in the 800-meter run with his clocking at the Dial-A-Move meet.

Deuel’s Oliver Fieber is having a standout spring, leading the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, and running on the fastest 400-meter and 800-meter relay teams. Milbank’s Sam Rick continues to lead the triple jump.

Other area boys among the leaders are Groton’s Keegen Tracy who is second in the 400, seventh in the 200 and eighth in the 100, Milbank’s Bryton Blauert who is third in the pole vault followed by Rick in fourth, Milbank’s Harley Zemlicka who is fourth in the 110 hurdles and fifth in the 300 hurdles, Mount who is fourth in the shot put followed by Kellen Pfitzer of Mobridge-Pollock in fifth, Clark-Willow Lake’s Michael Severson in sixth, and Milbank’s Lawson Novy in seventh, Pfitzer who is fourth in the discus followed by Mount in fifth, and Novy in sixth, Lucas Johnson of Great Plains Lutheran who is fourth in the high jump, Rick who is fourth in the long jump, Isaak Hunter of Miller who is sixth in the 110 hurdles and eighth in the 300 hurdles, Trayton Stambach of Mobridge-Pollock who is sixth in the triple jump, and Webster’s Jeron McCreary who is eighth in the 100 hurdles.

The Groton boys’ medley relay team is eighth.

Other area girls among the leaders are Eliza Larson of Clark-Willow Lake who is third in the shot put, Bentley Bauer of Mobridge-Pollock who is third in the long jump, Groton’ McKenna Tietz who is fourth in the 300 hurdles, Britton-Hecla’s Abigail Lee who is fourth in the triple jump, Deuel’s Hannah Cutshaw who is fourth in the pole vault followed by teammate Kamdyn Peterreins in fifth, and Milbank’s Jacy Dexter in seventh and Raina Untalun in eighth, Clark-Willow Lake’s Kamryn Nesheim who is sixth in the 1,600, Jayda Thompson of Mobridge-Pollock who is seventh in the 300 hurdles, Bauer who is seventh in the 100, Cadence Bochek of Clark-Willow Lake who is seventh in the 400, Milbank’s Anna Neugebauer who is eighth in the shot put, and Abby Kjenstad of Great Plains Lutheran who is eighth in the high jump.

Area girls relay teams in the leaders include Clark-Willow Lake which is third in the 1,600, fifth in the medley, and eighth in the 800, Groton which is fifth in the 800, and Milbank which is fifth in the 1,600 followed by Groton in seventh, and Mobridge-Pollock in eighth.
