Wessington Springs, Deubrook Area grab 2B golf team titles

BROOKINGS – Wessington Springs edged Howard by two strokes to win the boys’ team title, while Deubrook Area won the girls’ team crown by 37 strokes during the Region 2B Golf Tournament on Tuesday.

JD Thompson of Wessington Springs edged the field by a single stroke with a round of 79. Gradyn Henrich of De Smet was second, and Hamlin’s Aiden Abraham finished third, both with scores of 80.

Ava Crooks of Deubrook Area was the girls’ medalist with an 85. Halle Schulz of Howard was runner-up, and Brooke Jennings of De Smet was third, both with rounds of 88.
