Class B Track and Field Leaders

Lake Region Conference track and field athletes improved their times and distances among the Class B leaders this week following a banner conference meet this past Tuesday.

Many of the athletes were already among the state-wide leaders, and improved already solid marks. One, Ella Boekelheide of Northwestern, took over the top spot in the 3,200-meter run in a time of 10:59.55 that she clocked at last week’s Al Sahli Invitational.

Faulkton’s Spencer Melius clocked the best time in the 110-meter high hurdles at :15.10, and also bettered his leading javelin distance at 178-feet, 9-inches at the LRC meet. Ty Boekelheide of Northwestern improved his leading distance in the triple jump to 45-feet 1 3/4 inch, and Ipswich’s Jaylssa Hutson increased her state-leading pole vault mark to 11-feet, 6-inches.

Area Class B leaders continue to be Ipswich’s Kyle Hettich in the 200-meter dash, Leola’s Jacob Kindelspire in the shot put, Brody Davis of Ipswich in the pole vault, Boekelheide in the 800 and 1,600.

Other area boys leaders include Castlewood’s Brody Bass who is second in the 110 hurdles, Hettich who is second in the 100, Aberdeen Christian’s Dylan Hofer who is second in the long jump and triple jump, seventh in the 100 and eighth in the 200, Chays Mansfield who is second in the pole vault, Hitchcock-Tulare’s Logan LaBrie who is third in the 100, sixth in the triple jump and seventh in the 200, Warner’s Beckham Cantalope who is fourth in the 110 hurdles, fifth in the 300 hurdles and sixth in the 400, Melius who is fourth in the 300 hurdles, Tyson Schumacher of Herreid-Selby Area who is fourth in the triple jump, Marty Mickelson of Waverly-South Shore who is third in the javelin followed by Faulkton’s Weston Senn in fifth and Jett Yackley of Sully Buttes in seventh, Warner’s Easton Bruns who is sixth in the pole vault followed by teammate Paxton Johnson in seventh, Wilmot’s Ethan Schwenn who is seventh in the 400, Gavin Hirsch of Herreid-Selby Area who is seventh in the 1,600, Kadyn Westergren of Sully Buttes who is seventh in the shot put, Ipswich’s Tate Hogie who is seventh in the discus, Warner’s Jesiah Baum who is seventh in the long jump followed by Devin Enander of Hitchcock-Tulare in eighth, and Hudson Barber of Sully Buttes who is eighth in the triple jump.

Area boys relays teams in the leaders are Ipswich which is second in the 400 and seventh in the 800, Aberdeen Christian which is sixth in the 400, Faulkton which is sixth in the 3,200, Warner which is seventh in the medley, and Castlewood which is eighth in the 1,600.

Other area girls leaders include Ipswich’s Isabella Galbraith who is second in the 3,200, followed by teammates Madisyn Gellhaus in third and Jayla Stiles in fourth, Warner’s Miah Leidholt who is second in the high jump, Shawnteah LaCroix of Aberdeen Christian who is second in the triple jump, Peyton Schnabel of North Central who is second in the pole vault followed by Warner’s Avery Bruns in third and Courtney Leidholt in fifth and Carleigh Dosch of North Central in eighth, Kendal Uttecht of Wolsey-Wessington who is third in the 800, Warner’s Kaydee Mackner who is third in the long jump and the triple jump, Paytyn Marlow of Langford Area who is fourth in the 100, followed by Sophie Knittel of Ipswich in fifth and Brenna Jochim of Herreid-Selby Area in sixth, Boekelheide who is fourth in the 400, Galbraith who is fourth in the 1,600 followed by Uttecht in eighth, Ipswich’s Tristan Geditz who is fifth in the shot put and eighth in the discus, Hoven’s Dannika Kaup who is fifth in the 300 hurdles and seventh in the 100 hurdles, Ciera Mickelson of Sunshine Bible Academy who is sixth in the high jump followed by teammate Soleil Mickelson in eighth, Ipswich’s Marley Guthmiller who is seventh in the 300 hurdles and seventh in the 800, Addison Heinje of Waubay-Summit who is seventh in the javelin, Warner’s Kya Townsend who is eighth in the long jump, and Faulkton’s Brooklyn Mueller who is eighth in the triple jump.

Area girls relay teams in the leaders are Ipswich which is first in the 3,200 and third in the medley, and sixth in the 1,600, Northwestern which is fourth in the 1,600, Wolsey-Wessington which is fourth in the medley, Warner which is fifth in the 400, sixth in the 800, and seventh in the 3,200, Langford Area which is seventh in the 400, and Gettysburg which is eighth in the 3,200.
