Johnson, Stoks win titles at Pierre tourney

PIERRE – Linus Johnson and Caleb Stoks captured championships at the Governor Invitational tennis tournament on Friday.

Johnson won the third flight title and Stoks won the fourth flight crown. It was second title in a row for Stoks at the tourney.

“We had a great day,” said Roncalli coach Jonah Dignan.

Lincoln Hundstad took third place at flight five for the Cavaliers.

“We played some of our best tennis of the year,” Dignan said.

Roncalli, which hosts Milbank on Tuesday to conclude the regular season, is getting back to full strength after playing short-handed in recent weeks.

“We’re finally get most everybody back,” Dignan said. “We’re getting everybody where they need to be.”
